Jeremy and Abby ~ Hoping to Adopt

Welcome to our adoption blog! We are an adoptive family, hoping to add another child to our family through adoption at some point. We adopted our daughter, Lorena in 2009, and we’d love for her to have a brother or sister! She is hoping for a sister, but all three if us would be over the moon to welcome any child to our family.

This blog was originally intended to share an adoption profile and give additional information and updates about our family. However, at this time we are not home study ready and have decided not to create a profile on any adoption websites or sign up with an agency. We have posted past blog posts from my (Abby’s) personal blog and we are leaving all existing posts here in the event a parent or expectant parent would like to consider placing a child with us. If a parent or expectant parent contacts us, we are confident we could have a home study completed within a matter of weeks if needed, and all of the info here is still relevant, even if we haven’t posted updates about what’s going on in our lives at the moment. If any events relating to adoption occur from this point onward (placement, home study, fostering, etc), we will be sure to post an update.

Another purpose of this blog is to inform family and friends (and perhaps expectant parents who are just looking into it) about adoption. We will not be adding any more adoption education posts to the blog at this point, but we are leaving those that have already been written as a resource for anyone who happens upon them.

We know there are people in the world who do not believe in adoption, but we believe in it 100% because we have seen what a wonderful thing it can be. Please take some time and look around, get to know us, and learn a little about adoption.
